Yang Jiang: every man has his own destiny, but his fate is unreasonable.

01

There is an old Chinese saying: every man has his own destiny, and wealth lies in heaven.

Ancient Chinese believed in this saying: first, life, second, luck, and three stresses in reading.

Life represents how many virtues accumulated in the previous life, how many blessings there will be in this life, and what virtues there will be, there will be some good karma.

Life is determined in a previous life and cannot be changed, which explains why there is a saying that it is meant to be.

Luck represents luck, represents the era we live in, whether it is a peaceful and prosperous age, or years of war, whether it is a rich family or a poor family.

Life and luck cannot be changed. we cannot choose where and when we will be born in this life.

But the third one is about reading, which is the turning point of our victory over nature.

This is a view held by ancient people, but few people in modern times will believe it.

Fatalism or free will, which is the right point of view, may be both right.

Every soul has its own self-will and plan, and every life is full of infinite possibilities.

Front-end time, BBC made a documentary about rich people, the life of this group of rich people is beyond my wildest dreams.

They live in castles, go out on private jets, and lunch is the rarest caviar in the world.

In other parts of the world, there are people who live in garbage-laden villages and have never seen clean water.

In fact, these examples are more or less some people have their own meaning, not only that, we also found that life is totally unreasonable.

As the saying goes: 360 lines, top performers in all walks of life, and all roads lead to Rome. These are all about how people can change their destiny through their own unwritten efforts.

But the unreasonable thing about fate is that all roads lead to Rome, but some people are born in Rome.

In fact, it is not only China that believes in fate, but many countries are interpreting fate in their own way.

Westerners believe that fate is character, which means that your character determines your fate in this life.

I am more willing to believe this than the blessings of the previous life as mentioned by the ancient Chinese.

Yang Jiang once talked about the topic of fate in her book Walking on the Edge of Life.

Before Yang Jiang and Qian Zhongshu got married, Qian's family had asked for her birthday to tell fortune.

The so-called fortune teller is to calculate whether Qian Zhongshu is consistent with Yang Jiang's eight characters.

People used to do this many years ago, after all, it was rare to see the bride and groom when they got married before, so it's no wonder they guessed in this way.

Yang Jiang does not believe in fortune-telling, let alone fate.

Later, when Yang Jiang was old, looking back on the past, she suddenly felt that people do have different lives, and some things are indeed doomed.

Just like Qian Zhongshu refused the position offered to him by a senior official, Qian Zhongshu refused at once.

Because this is Qian Zhongshu's character, his personality doomed him to refuse without thinking.

Yang Jiang said: I think it is his destiny to be appreciated by a senior official. But his refusal is not only his character, but also his free will.

It is true that people have their own destiny, which is unreasonable. Sometimes fools can enjoy splendor and wealth, but sometimes talented people suffer a lot.

As Jia Zhangke said:

I also hope that every good man can have a good reward, but life is the most unreasonable, sometimes there are too many mistakes in life, good people can not end well, and evil people enjoy their years.

We reflect on our lives, although most of the time we are unsatisfactory, but to tell you the truth, we are the ones who make decisions.

Many things are involuntary, but we are still the ones who make decisions.

Just like Qian Zhongshu rejected that senior official, senior executives took a fancy to him, but it was Qian Zhongshu's decision to reject him.

Therefore, every man has his destiny, but it is man, not fate, who is in charge.
