A breathtaking aesthetic classic

On the evening of April 29, the 2019 elegant Art Lanzhou Song and Dance Theater series of large-scale dance drama "Big Dream Dunhuang", sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Finance, was performed at the Shaoxintang Theater of Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance.

The dance drama "Great Dream Dunhuang" is a legendary four-act dance drama, which takes the thousands of years of creation history of Dunhuang art treasure house as the background, and takes the relationship between the young painter Mo Gao and the crescent moon, the daughter of the general, as a clue, deduces an impressive love story. Since its premiere, the play has won many awards, such as the five-one Project Award of the propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Chinese Dance Lotus Award, the China Wenhua Award and so on. What is more rare is that over the past few years, the play has been invited to tour in many countries in Europe and the United States, and it is second to none among Chinese original dance dramas, making Dunhuang the top work in Chinese original dance dramas and classic works of folk dance dramas.

The Great Dream Dunhuang tells a mournful love legend with scenery, music, lighting and dance. Each scene shows the beauty, romance and heroism of Dunhuang, bringing people a strong visual impact and spiritual intoxication. The audience was brought into the mysterious desert by the brand-new LED screen and infectious music. As the plot progressed, the audience was deeply immersed in the ups and downs, deeply moved by the sad but soul-stirring love story of Crescent Moon and Mogao.

Mo Gao, a young painter, went to Dunhuang in pursuit of the highest realm of art. he was dying in the difficulty of crossing the desert and was saved by a passing woman crescent moon. Soon, they met again in Dunhuang and fell in love. However, he was opposed by the general, the father of the crescent moon, and forced the crescent moon to recruit relatives among princes and tycoons. In order to love, the crescent moon fled at night and met with Mo Gao in the cave, and the general led an army to surround him. In front of blood and fire, the crescent moon once again saved Mogao, but paid the price of life. The crescent moon left, turned into a clear spring, Mogao moistened the pen with the spring, and completed the last song of art in the great sorrow. The Mogao Grottoes are immortal for a thousand years, and the crescent moon spring will never dry up for thousands of generations. Art and love are always accompanied and guarded together.

It is not too much to evaluate tonight's performance in terms of amazing, wonderful and shocking. This is one of the most exquisite performances I have ever seen in China. Our big family is once again getting together on campus for elegant art. From his father-in-law in his 90s to his one-and-a-half-year-old grandson, four generations watched the play together. When we came, we were still worried that the little guy would make a noise and affect others. However, during the two-hour viewing process, he was so impressed by the dazzling, warm, gorgeous and moving scene that he couldn't take his eyes off.

Throughout the performance, there was not a single line or song on the stage, and the choreographers and performers used graceful body language, beautiful Western music and melodies, beautiful stage design and dance effects. More than 1000 teachers, students, staff and their families were conquered, and there was thunderous applause at the scene, and the mood of the audience was mobilized incisively and vividly, narrowing the distance between the broad masses of teachers and students and elegant art, so that everyone could intuitively and truly feel the rich cultural heritage of Dunhuang and the charm of desert art.

The dance drama "Great Dream Dunhuang" has four features: story beauty, dance beauty, music beauty and dance beauty. Chen Wei, a famous contemporary Chinese choreographer and head of the China Song and Dance Troupe, holds aloft the pearl of Dunhuang culture, personifies the most famous Mogao Grottoes and Crescent Spring, and deduces it into a tender and tearful love story, thus melting a distant dream of Dunhuang into a wonderful work of Chinese art.

The dance choreography is unique, and the solo dance and duet dance of the hero and heroine form a sharp contrast, forming a strong dramatic conflict, thus giving people the dual enjoyment of the beauty of dance and drama. Qianshou Guanyin, rebound pipa and other group dances are soft and fresh, full of charm to reflect the distinct regional characteristics, which is amazing.

Zhang Qianyi, the author of the famous composer Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, runs through his works with a simple and elegant western music style. With the addition and contrast of traditional musical instruments such as Zheng, Xun, pipa and zither, the desolate, broad, powerful and rough theme music has been strengthened, and the artistic appeal of the whole play has been greatly enhanced. In order to bring people back from the end of the show, there is still a feeling that the sound lingers around the beam.

The colorful murals of the Mogao Grottoes, the lifelike murals of the flying apsaras, the majestic murals of thousands of Buddhas, and the giant sculptures of the Buddha's head are skillfully incorporated into the setting and canopy of the stage by the designers and designers. The exquisite composition and wonderful layout, coupled with the ingenuity of the lighting design and the unique and novel costumes, form the beauty of harmony with the whole play.

At the end of the performance, all the audience stood up and responded with constant applause again. Crescent Moon, Mogao and all the actors had to make curtain calls again and again. Subsequently, school leaders and student representatives went to the stage one after another to take photos with the actors of "Big Dream Dunhuang" in order to keep this beautiful and unforgettable moment for the college.

Less than half an hour after watching the show, I was on Wechat moments. I sent dozens of pictures and talked about my feelings and experience affectionately. This is also the fastest record of distributing words and photos to the Internet since I played Wechat. As excited and moved as I am, there are family members. After watching the program, they drove home for more than an hour and was already very late, but they were indefatigable and could not help posting their pictures and videos to Wechat moments, attracting relatives and friends to share and like them. I'm afraid this is the shock and emotion that elegant art brings to us.
