The gap between ideal and reality

It is often heard that there is a gap between ideal and reality. In fact, I sometimes say, not only to myself, but also to others. Under what circumstances do we like to say this sentence? It seems that they like to say this sentence when they encounter difficulties or setbacks, as if they have not achieved the desired results or have not begun to do a difficult task. It also seems to like to say this sentence when they feel confused, lose confidence in the future or have nothing to do all day. We like to comfort ourselves by saying this when things do not achieve the desired results, when we do not realize what we have in mind, and when we do not fully meet our inner needs.

We often talk about ideal and reality, so what is ideal and what is reality? And what is the relationship between the two? We know that ideal belongs to the category of consciousness, while reality belongs to the category of matter. Consciousness is the objective reflection of matter in the human brain. Matter determines consciousness, and consciousness reacts on matter. Ideal is a kind of special consciousness, which comes from reality and is higher than reality. Reality is the total combination of all the current situations that people face, while the ideal is the idea that reality can not meet people's needs and make up for the deficiencies of reality. It can also be said that the ideal is an ideal world conceived in order to make the reality meet the standards in one's mind when the reality does not meet the standards in one's own mind. It is precisely because the reality is not perfect, can not meet our inner needs, we do not meet this imperfect reality, so it motivates us to constantly strive for the perfect reality. Therefore, the ideal is people's idea of the future and the realistic idea of looking forward to a better life in the future.

It can be said that the ideal is the reality that has not yet been realized, while the reality is the realized ideal. Today's reality is the realization of yesterday's ideal, while today's ideal is the reality of tomorrow that has not yet arrived. Human beings not only transform nature according to their own ideals, but also construct society and create life according to their own ideals. Human beings become different because they have ideals, and human beings become great because of the realization of ideals. Everyone learns according to their own ideals, and everyone does things according to their own ideals. Therefore, our real life today is the ideal life expected by our predecessors, and the ideal life we look forward to today is the reality of our life in the future. You are the person who keeps fighting for the person you want to be, the future you are the ideal you you are looking forward to now, and the present you are the ideal you once were. People's ideals can be realized, and we can be what we want to be.

However, why is there a gap between ideal and reality? Why do ideals sometimes not come true? In fact, from the above analysis, we can see that the ideal is advanced, that is, the ideal is a good idea of the future life in view of the dissatisfaction of the reality, that is to say, there is a certain time difference between the ideal and the reality. and it is this time difference that leads to a certain gap between ideal and reality. In other words, our ideal can not be realized immediately, the ideal of today can only be realized tomorrow, and the ideal of this moment can only be realized at the next moment. More importantly, the biggest reason why the ideal cannot be realized is that the ideal is divorced from reality. However, why is the ideal divorced from reality? Because the ideal belongs to consciousness, although consciousness can reflect matter, it may not reflect matter correctly, because due to the limitations of the times and environment, that is, the limitations of people's education, by the limitations of the learning environment and by the growth experience, then the consciousness of matter acting on people's minds will be limited, resulting in consciousness can not correctly reflect matter or one-sided reflection of matter. In other words, because we practice too little, come into contact with too few things, do not act enough, do not learn enough, then we are ignorant of the things around us, and because we are ignorant, we do not understand the nature of things, which leads to the limitation of thinking and the lack of cognitive ability, so we can not correctly analyze and judge things and grasp the nature of things, which leads to ideas divorced from reality, and ideals are not in line with reality. Ideal and reality cannot be unified. If there is no unity between ideal and reality, there will be a gap between them, so it will be difficult to realize the ideal. Therefore, only when consciousness correctly reflects matter can it have a positive reaction to matter, and only when consciousness and matter reach a specific historical unity can we produce a strong power of energy, and we can take correct actions; only when the ideal accords with the actual law and the realistic basis can it be realized, and only when the ideal and reality reach the concrete historical unity ideal can it be realized.

So how can consciousness correctly reflect matter and achieve the unity of ideal and reality? That is continuous practice, through practice to make the objective world almost completely exposed so that it has a profound effect on our brain, so that our consciousness can reflect the objective world comprehensively and correctly, and shorten or eliminate the distance between ideal and reality through practice. If you want to know the taste of a pear, you have to taste it yourself. if we want to know and grasp the nature and laws of reality so as to make correct judgments and decisions, then we must constantly practice and enrich our consciousness in practice. broaden our thinking in practice, understand the essence in practice, grasp the laws in practice, increase our knowledge and ability in practice, and constantly find and solve problems in practice. In practice, one's own understanding gradually tends to reality, and in practice, one's ideology is constantly close to reality, so as to achieve the unity of ideal and reality, so as to make a correct cognition in practice. build an utopia that conforms to reality. In short, consciousness is constantly formed by objective things acting on the brain in practice, and ideals are established on the basis of consciousness. the more you practice, the richer and deeper you practice, then your consciousness will be richer and closer to the nature of things. then the more you know about the world, the more correct you are, and the more you know about the world, the more correct your cognitive ability will be, and the more your consciousness will be in line with reality. As a result, the closer your ideal is to reality, and in a sense, the smaller the gap between your ideal and reality.
