Jujube trees on the rocky cliffs

It was a steep stone cliff in northern Shaanxi, so steep that it could not be steeper. It stood there upright with very little soil and grass, and there was very little soil and grass on the cliff. On that half cliff, a jujube tree sprang up abruptly between a crevice that could not be seen clearly. It is said that the jujube tree grows there, where there is no nourishment and water, as long as it can barely squeeze out a few leaves and show a little green, it is very good, but it is contrary to common sense and grows strong and vigorous. Every August and September, the red and green half-red and half-green dates are covered with the branches and leaves of the jujube tree, hanging the whole crown like a colorful waterfall.

With the golden autumn every year, this jujube is always seductively red, decorating a large sky. The people who carried the basket and the hoe could only raise their necks and look at the dates and sigh. when the city people came to travel with a bumpy car, they suddenly saw it, got excited and jumped out of the car. as a result, they could only raise their necks and look at the dates and sigh. Saliva was secreted in their mouths, and every nerve trembled with teasing, but there was nothing they could do about it.

Under the stone cliff, there is a stone carving processing site, which brings together skilled craftsmen from several counties, including old men and young undergraduates. The stone lions they carved and the stone lions they were carving were lively and lovely, and were placed everywhere. These folk artists, such as those near Shuiloutai, certainly want to pick good dates. It is said that one of them, a young man with great strength, was so angry that he threw a stone into the jujube tree, but only two or three dates were laid down. This jujube has really become the flat peach of the Queen Mother! He looked at the jujube tree and cursed. The jujube tree, looking at the angry young man, shook it three times as if he were deliberately angry with him.

A jujube tree has touched the eyes of so many people, touched the hearts of so many people, and spoiled the fun of so many people, so that some people have to think about it and think about it on the way away, so that people have no way to understand its background, and there is no way to know whether it is frivolous or noble.

When I saw the jujube tree with my own eyes that year, I couldn't help but stop and raise my neck. Because of the large elevation, my hat slipped down my shoulder. My friend traveling with me said, "what's the use of just looking at it?" If we really want to have a taste, we'll climb from the back of the mountain to that cliff one day. And then we really went. After walking around for seven or eight miles, I was sweating and my shirt was drenched, so I saw the jujube tree at close range. Maybe because of the excitement or the reflection of the jujube, we both blushed like a glow. That jujube tree really makes us want to cheer. The wind on the cliff is strong, the sun is also very abundant, the wind and sunshine pass through its rough bark and branches year after year, full of attractive vitality for it, so the fruit is big and colorful, like a gem. Although we could see every jujube on the tree clearly, and we could even see several big ants climbing on it, the terrain there was so steep that we could not move any closer to it. It was a pity that we had to turn back and leave angrily step by step.

Many years later, when I couldn't help thinking of the jujube tree, I finally stopped resentful because I reread the Book of songs:

The grey is green, and White Dew is the frost. That person of whom I think is on the water somewhere. If you go back to it, the road is long. Traveling back to it, Wan is in the middle of the water.

I think of a modern folk song in northern Shaanxi:

Sheep's belly towels Yo three Road Blue, it is easier for us to meet than to talk. One is in the mountain and the other is in the ditch. If you can't get a word, let's wave. Saw a village yo did not see a person, tearful eggs thrown in Artemisia annua forest.

Isn't the situation created by these immortal folk songs the same as that caused by the jujube tree?

When I think of this layer, I suddenly feel my life shudder and shake off a little vulgarity. You see, that jujube tree is so beautiful, so attractive, but always hard to touch, always admired; it is always teasing you, beckoning you, but always far away from you; it is a beauty, as if separated by the clouds. It is a real jujube, but it brings people the realm of poetry, romantic feelings and aesthetic scenes. It reminds me of the admiration situation named by Mr. Qian Zhongshu, which is memorable for a long time.
